Product Overview The ABB 2UBA004787R0001, also designated as the XZ C8X1 control board, is the intelligent main control unit that serves as the “decision-making brain” for ABB’s ACS880 series of high-performance industrial frequency converters . This advanced control board is the core component responsible for executing complex motor control algorithms, managing I/O signals, and handling network communications that enable the ACS880 drive platform to deliver precise motor speed and torque regulation . The ABB 2UBA004787R0001 transforms the ACS880 into a versatile and intelligent drive solution suitable for demanding applications such as pumps, fans, conveyors, compressors, and mining equipment. At the heart of the ABB 2UBA004787R0001 lies a powerful multi-core processing architecture combining ARM Cortex processors with dedicated DSP motor control coprocessors, enabling the execution of ABB’s proprietary Direct Torque Control (DTC) algorithm . Unlike traditional V/F control, DTC delivers millisecond-level torque response and speed accuracy as precise as ±0.01%, often without requiring an external encoder . The ABB 2UBA004787R0001 further integrates safety functionality compliant with IEC 61800-5-2, offering Safe Torque Off (STO) at the SIL3/PLe level, enabling emergency stops without external safety modules . For facilities operating ABB ACS880 drives, the ABB 2UBA004787R0001 is an indispensable component for maintaining high system performance, operational reliability, and production continuity. Technical Specifications Parameter Name Parameter Value Product Model 2UBA004787R0001 / XZ C8X1 Manufacturer ABB Product Type Frequency Converter Main Control Board (Control Unit) Applicable Platform ABB ACS880 Single/Multi-drive Series Control Modes DTC Direct Torque Control, Vector Control, V/F Control, Torque Control Processor Architecture ARM Cortex + Dedicated DSP Motor Control Coprocessor Memory Configuration Flash Memory (Program/Parameter Storage), SRAM (Runtime Memory) Real-Time Clock Yes (with Backup Battery Interface) Digital I/O 6 Digital Inputs / 2 Digital Outputs (Expandable) Analog I/O 2 Analog Inputs / 2 Analog Outputs (0–10 V / 4–20 mA) Standard Communication RS-485 (Modbus RTU), CANopen (Internal Bus) Expansion Options Profibus DP, DeviceNet, Ethernet/IP, etc. (via Add-on Modules) Safety Function STO (Safe Torque Off), Compliant with IEC 61800-5-2, SIL3/PLe Diagnostic Interface USB (Parameter Backup/Firmware Upgrade) Logic Supply Voltage +24 V DC (from Drive Power Unit) Operating Temperature -10°C to +55°C Protection Class IP00 (Cabinet Installation Only) Main Features and Advantages Advanced Direct Torque Control Performance: The ABB 2UBA004787R0001 runs ABB’s patented DTC algorithm, delivering exceptional motor control precision without the need for costly encoder feedback. This technology enables the ABB XZ C8X1 to achieve high starting torque (up to 150%) at very low speeds (0.5 Hz) and respond to load changes 5 to 10 times faster than traditional V/F control methods . This performance is critical for demanding applications such as crushers, extruders, and rolling mills, where load conditions can change abruptly. Integrated Functional Safety for Cost Savings: The ABB 2UBA004787R0001 incorporates STO capability directly into the control board hardware. When a safety relay opens the STO circuit, the ABB XZ C8X1 immediately blocks the IGBT drive signals, ensuring zero motor torque output in under 2 milliseconds without any software involvement . This built-in safety function, certified to SIL3/PLe, eliminates the need for separate external safety controllers, significantly reducing both system cost and panel space. Flexible Communication for Seamless Integration: While the ABB 2UBA004787R0001 offers RS-485 Modbus RTU and CANopen as standard, its modular design supports a wide range of fieldbus expansion modules . Adding a Profibus DP module transforms the ABB XZ C8X1 into a Profibus slave, while an Ethernet adapter enables connection to Profinet or EtherNet/IP networks . This flexibility allows the ABB 2UBA004787R0001 to adapt to both legacy DCS systems and modern IIoT architectures without requiring controller replacement. Application Macros for Simplified Commissioning: The ABB 2UBA004787R0001 comes pre-loaded with application-specific macros, including Energy Optimizer and Pump & Fan Control . These macros enable users to configure complex functions such as constant pressure control, sleep/wake modes, and pump rotation scheduling by simply selecting a template and entering a few parameters—eliminating the need for custom programming and significantly reducing installation time.

Product Overview The ABB 1TGE102009R1001 is the MLink communication module for ABB’s MNS low-voltage draw-out motor control center (MCC) system — the R1001 suffix identifies the Profibus DP version (the R1002 sibling is Modbus TCP).
