VMIVME2540 is a high-performance VME bus intelligent counter/controller module developed by General Electric(GE),specifically designed for industrial automation systems.This module supports multi-channel digital signal measurement and generation functions,integrates 24 discrete input/output interfaces,and is equipped with an onboard 15 MHz 68HC000 microprocessor,which can independently perform complex control tasks.Its design follows the IEEE 754 floating-point standard and is suitable for high-precision counting,frequency measurement,pulse sequence generation,and motion control scenarios.

High precision counting and measurement capability

Event count up to 4 Gigabit events,supports continuous measurement mode,and can repeat tasks without the need for host involvement.

The frequency measurement range is wide(1.16×10⁻³Hz to 2.5 MHz),and the cycle/pulse width measurement range covers 400 ns to 8.5899×10⁶seconds(32-bit floating point mode).

Flexible channel configuration

Provide 4/8/16/24 channel optional configurations,support differential and single ended signal input,compatible with RS-422 differential interface and single ended TTL input.

24 discrete output channels are programmable,supporting a voltage range of±10 V,with each channel absorbing/outputting a current of up to 10 mA,suitable for driving industrial loads.

Real time control and compatibility

The onboard 15 MHz 68HC000 CPU simplifies configuration through a command driven interface,and users can directly operate measurement,timing,and output functions through the memory mapping interface.

Compliant with VMEbus interface standards(A32/A24/D32/D16/D8),supports 64 KB VME bus memory windows,and is compatible with industrial control system ecosystems.

Motion and Position Control

Support orthogonal position measurement(sin/cos signal,1 MHz frequency),provide±1/4 wave control resolution,with a maximum step rate of 1.25 MHz.
